Welcome to Wordsworth barn - a contemporary 17th Century barn conversion in the heart of the Lake District. Offering luxury, 5 star "boutique" style accommodation it is now ready for romantic short breaks and longer holidays.

Wordsworth Barn has been converted using stylish accessories and local materials - such as Kirkstone slate floors, herdwick wool carpets and individual art from local craftspeople. It is centrally heated and very well equipped.

The barn has an idyllic location on the outskirts of the picturesque Lake District village of Patterdale, on the shores of Ullswater. Once owned by the well known poet William Wordsworth, it offers stylish and contemporary accommodation - a real home from home.

The famous Ullswater Steamers operate between Glenridding Pier and Pooley Bridge, and attractions such as Dalemain House, Aira Force arboretum and falls, the Kirkstone Pass and Rheged are within a short drive.... and of course fabulous scenery is all around!

The area has lots to offer - activities such as cycling, walking, horse riding, country pursuits and outdoor adventure activities are all available locally.

Patterdale is a popular base for touring, being in the central Lakes, with popular centres such as: Penrith, Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside - all being within a 30 minute drive.

With Helvellyn close by, and Wordsworth Barn nestled under Place Fell, which gives access to the High Street range, there is great walking from the front door and routes for all abilities. You can also follow in Alfred Wainwright’s footsteps – at least 3 of his walks pass through the village.
